Lemongrass Pork, Spinach and Roasted Carrot Salad Roll
-added the photo of the dough since it’s always amazing how it rolls out so nicely, this recipe really the first one where I don’t have to fight the dough.
-the photo of the jar is added since that’s my rolling pin…it works surprisingly well!
the life of a student living on loans
…in the kitchen at least. I baked salmon+zucchini for lunch, cooked lemongrass-sesame marinated pork, roasted carrots, assembled salad rolls for to eat during my rafting trip tomorrow, and last but certainly not least made cinnamon buns. I should have been studying, or working on assignments or planning my summer but I can never resist food
though washing the dishes might be a deterrent.
Anyway the salmon was probably the best combo of delicious and easy. And I think its safe to say I’ve now mastered cinnamon buns after making them perfectly 8 times (except that one time I let them over rise, wanting them to get bigger and bigger, but then like a balloon it deflated and shrunk…) Amazingly there isn’t even a lot of sugar in the buns, only 2/3 of a cup over TWO trays with 9 buns each. Though they have only been out of the oven for a little over an hour and I’ve almost finished one tray to myself so maybe it’s still not healthy…
Posting photos soon!
Pho Noodle SoupI was out shopping and I saw tendons, and immediately thought of pho. Since moving away I haven’t been able to find a good place. So I was itching to have some and thought making some would be interesting. I tried my best to cook it the way I remember my mom making it. Not exactly the same, but still so good and refreshing!
Cranberry Nutmeg Sticky Buns
Since I’m going home for reading week in a few days
I hope I tried to make these to use up the milk and eggs I have, so I didn’t buy new ingredients. I ended up low on sugar, so I used condensed milk for the dough and reserved the sugar for the filling. Still wasn’t enough and its not sufficient sticky. Plus there is lime zest in the dough so I could use up the limes in my fridge.
